In my work contract, it says: "On termination of employment for any reason, the company has the option to pay salaries in lieu of notice". I am just wondering, does my ex-employer have the right to pay me 4 wks "redundancy pay"? A document has been sent to me stating "redundancy pay calculation is 4 wks payment". I think that the terminology is wrong because I have worked less than 2 yrs. Normally, I should get a month salary in lieu of notice and my holidays (which haven't been paid - I am entitled to 5 wks hols a yr). I should not receive a redundancy pay. Are they robbing me?HR cannot be reached right now ACAS will get back to me later. Thanks
