I asked my boss if she would consider letting me have half day a month to attend counselling sessions as I have a drink problem, though it has never affected anything at work. She said that alcoholism didn't qualify for sick leave as it is 'self inflicted'. I said that alcoholism is an illness and an addiction like any other. She said "Nobody is forcing it down your throat are they". I felt this comment was very unfair. What should I do?
